Honoring Carlo Rambaldi with installation of E.T. figure in Behind the Screen

Carlo Rambaldi, the legendary Italian special effects artist, would have turned 100 this year. He was awarded three Academy Awards for his work in the films King Kong (1976), Alien (1979), and E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982) in a career that spanned nearly 30 years designing and building creatures for such esteemed filmmakers as Mario Bava, Federico Fellini, Dario Argento, Steven Spielberg, David Lynch, and Ridley Scott. Starting November 20, to honor Rambaldi’s centenary, we will exhibit a figure of E.T. that was used in the production of the film.
The Museum will also present screenings of E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial on November 22 and 23.
